OpenAI has introduced a new feature called GPT Store, which allows developers to deploy and share their trained GPT models through an API. GPT Plus subscribers have access to GPT Store, where they can purchase and use models created by other developers. This post provides a guide on how to create your own GPT on GPT Store, including prerequisites and step-by-step instructions. The aim of GPT Store is to foster innovation and provide developers with a sustainable opportunity to share and sell their models.

How to Create Your Own GPT Store

At the OpenAI Developer Day, OpenAI unveiled a groundbreaking feature called GPT Store. It allows developers to deploy their trained GPT models to the cloud and access and utilize them through an API. The goal of GPT Store is to enable developers to share and sell their GPT models, providing them with a source of income. This platform provides developers with a marketplace where they can promote their models to other developers and users and generate economic returns. Developers can create their own model pages on GPT Store, showcasing the functionality and applications of their models, and setting their prices. Other developers and users can purchase and use these models on GPT Store to meet their specific needs. The aim of this platform is to foster innovation and application of GPT models while offering developers a sustainable opportunity.
Now let's demonstrate how to create your own GPTs.

Prerequisites

Based on the information available to me, GPT Store is currently only accessible to GPT Plus subscribers. GPT Plus is a subscription plan introduced by OpenAI, costing $20 per month, which provides several advantages, including faster response times, priority access to new features and products, and early access to GPT Store. This means that only GPT Plus users can purchase and use models from other developers on GPT Store. However, OpenAI plans to expand the availability of GPT Store to more users in the future. Therefore, if you are not a GPT Plus user yet, you may need to wait or follow OpenAI's official announcements for the latest information on the opening of GPT Store.
If you are already a Plus user, then you can enjoy exploring GPT Store.
Simply open the website https://chat.openai.com/gpts/discovery, and you will see the following page if you have sufficient permissions.

As you can see, the GPTs list displayed on my page includes "tailwind GPT," which is a GPT I created myself, as well as records of using GPTs created by others. The bottom section of the page features GPTs developed by OpenAI, which everyone can directly use.
By the way, I should mention a couple of articles written earlier. Since the OpenAI Developer Day, some time has passed, and now there are thousands of GPTs available all over the internet, with various GPT Stores for sharing and discovering them. To find more GPT Stores, I recommend checking out the two articles I wrote:What is GPTs, The world's best GPTs list site for search experience They mention some excellent navigation sites for sharing and discovering useful GPT Stores, such as gptshuntergptsinfogptstodaygpts.works and more.

Creating Your Own GPT Store

Click the "Create a GPT" button shown in the previous image and let's begin our journey.

Let's give it a try. This time, I want to create a teacher with the following description: I hope you can help me create a teacher who loves to tell stories to children. This teacher is particularly good at telling a variety of interesting and educational stories, which are especially loved by children. These stories are also particularly helpful for children's physical and mental growth.

Wait for a moment, and the GPT Builder will assist us in completing the specific task. We just need to wait and see the outcome, as shown in the following image.

As you can see on the right side of the interface, our requirements have been met. We have successfully created the role of a storyteller teacher who weaves educational and captivating stories for children. Additionally, the GPT Builder suggests that we give this teacher a name: Enchanted Educator, I think it's a great suggestion, so let's adopt it.
Next, the GPT Builder has created a cover image for us, illustrating the capabilities of our GPTs. To simplify the creation process, let's stick with the default cover image provided, considering its decent quality.

Now let's specify the types of stories, themes, and other details for this GPT, making it more specific.
This GPT should focus on stories for children aged 6 to 12, mainly happy, joyful, educational, and intellectually enlightening stories. It can be classic stories such as Grimm's Fairy Tales, One Thousand and One Nights, etc., but no blood. Stories of violence and more.

Looking at the picture above, GPT Builder asked a new question, allowing us to choose whether to let Enchanted Educator ask multiple times to more accurately understand the requested story type, or let Enchanted Educator fill in the missing details on its own. Here we Choose to fill in the missing details yourself, which can also lower the threshold for use.
Finally, we specify a speaking style and tone for Enchanted Educator and set the name of the GPT to Enchanted Educator

So far, we have successfully created a GPT of our own. Let us publish it and make it public. Everyone is welcome to try it out.

At this point, we have successfully created a GPT of our own. We are very happy. Let everyone tinker with it.
